"An Ecology of Silence: The Hidden Language of Nature" - A Reflection led by Linda Chapman 10am-1pm, Saturday 4th May
Continuing with the theme of "the Hidden Language of Nature"
The practice of silence is a significant way of listening for the ‘central tonic note’* of Life. Silence is not static but relational. In this quiet day we continue to explore the hidden language of nature with particular attention to this language as the communion of presence.
Regular Events in 2024
Dadirri Days - A quiet day based on sessions of meditation on the fourth Friday of the month 10am to 1pm. Shared silence informs the morning with space for contemplative walking, journaling or sitting at the foot of the mountain. All are welcome to join in this time of simplicity, silence and stillness. Contact: Linda or Lyndall.
The simple joy of gathering with friends in conversation, in silence and common contemplation lies at the heart of Open Sanctuary. At the foot of the mountain, we pray. That is to say, we open our hearts to the Other found at the centre of all life; the Spirit that abides in all. The sense of numinous Presence in this place is gift and grace for which we are grateful. This year we will continue our monthly dadirri or quiet days generally on the 4th Friday of each month. We will also offer some Taize singing workshops and some Kirtan. And we will gather round a fire to drink tea and yarn and share a song or two from time to time. The healing power of simply coming together in this way is especially important following these past years of pandemic. Everybody is welcome.
Timeless places “There are places that call us to still and be….. places of reflection quiet, wild, timeless that overflow the soul and draw us in to the Silence of our own heartland.” Noel Davis
